“The racing suit I prefer to use is the Speedo Fastskin LZR Pure Valor. This race suit has the most comfortable for me when racing in the Individual Medley and Breaststroke races. Using the Pure Valor racing suit allows me to increase my range of motion for my breaststroke kick and does not constrict my abilities when racing in the water. They also help to improve my buoyancy in the water, which is crucial for all 4 strokes, especially breaststroke.

The only negative I would have about the Pure Valor is that the water soaks into the race suit quite quickly, for my personal preference I would like the water to bounce off the race suit when it is brand new, however, it still increases my buoyancy in the water.

Over the years I have constantly changed my preferences of what racing suit I like to wear. When I was younger, I would wear the Arena Carbon Air. I felt like this race suit gave me enough flexibility and buoyancy in the water for when I was 14-16 years old, however, once I started to grow and develop more muscle mass, I felt as though the Arena racing suits were constricting my legs which developed into discomfort when racing.

I then changed to Speedo Fastskin LZR 2, which felt like the perfect comfort, not too tight but the right level of tightness for me to race 200m and above. Since then, I have stuck with Speedo and tried out their other ranges. Speedo in my opinion if you look after your race suit well, they can last for a few years, I only ever wear my race suit strictly for racing unless I have back-to-back races which then I would not have time to change. Even still, if I had to wear the race suit for 2-3 hours during a session, it does not become uncomfortable for me as they fit perfectly for my body type. I always wash out my race suit with cold water so that the chlorine does not rot them as much, increasing its durability.”
